JENSEN, Ole

Ole Jensen is an Australian timber sculptor born in Denmark, whose work blends a strong Scandinavian design heritage with the raw visual language of the Australian landscape. Drawing on a background in design, Jensen constructs hand-carved contemporary sculptures that emphasize organic geometry, tactile grain structures, and architectural presence.

Now based on the South Coast of New South Wales, his creative process is deeply informed by the dramatic coastal environment—translating fluid marine rhythms, weathered textures, and natural contours into solid timber forms. Working predominantly with native Australian hardwoods, such as  Australian Red Mahogany Grey Mangrove, Jensen’s practice honors the unique provenance of each piece of timber, resulting in singular, masterfully crafted statement works for private collectors, interior designers, and architectural spaces.
