Born in Sydney 1957
Nickname – Kaz
Has worked in the stone industry for over 25 years – sculpts with all types of natural stone including marble, limestone, granite, sandstone, bluestone & onyx.
Self-taught “Cyber Sculptor” – creates a concept using inspiration from life and then sculpts it using virtual clay in an advanced software programme to form a 3D digital maquette. The digital file is then processed into a suitable file format and checked for accuracy through several other specialised software programmes before a state-of-the-art 7° axis robot is used to remove all the waste material from the raw block with innovative, specially designed and stone specific diamond milling tools. Each work begins as a traditional quarry stone block and is reduced to correct size with stone specific diamond wire technology. This raw is then robotically milled to remove further waste, leaving the 3D concept shape to be traditionally hand finished.
Strongly influenced by movement to music (Latin American, Ballroom and Salsa dancing), poetry, humour, the interplay of water & light on surfaces, fashion and the soft voluptuous curves and flowing swirls of the female form.
AA12 Anatomy for Artists with Scott Eaton of London UK.
Full Member of The Sculpture Society
