HELENA LILLYWHITE, born in UK now resides in Sydney Australia, having graduated from University
of Chichester, UK, receiving her BA Honours Degree in Art and Related Arts.
Lillywhite’s practice is informed by life and nature, through the use of light and shadows, her process
involves the break down and simplification of forms, by a creating aesthetically considered structures
and shapes. Starting from a point of likeness, her work at times evolves into an abstract nature.
Lillywhite draws on her experience as a graphic designer as a starting point for many of works, using
digital flat plains that are then assembled into a 3D structure.

Her works include a sculpture of Juanita Nielsen which was created in collaboration with Sculptor John
Gardner and is housed in the Juanita Nielsen Community Centre at Woolloomooloo. This piece was
purchased for public display by the City of Sydney. She was recently awarded with The Roger Fenton
Prize, at the Sculptors Society Concourse Art Space Exhibition, 2018, judged by Alan Somerville and selected for
the Randwick International Women’s Day Art Prize, 2017.
